Artesã d’Estórias (Storyteller Artisan) was born in the winter of 2012 from the creative dreams of artist and artisan Isabel Silva. The project brings together the art of telling and animating stories with the handcrafts Isabel uses to make characters, props and sets.

Handmade

Creative sewing, felted wool, papier-mâché, reused materials and elements from nature are some of the materials and techniques that bring each story’s puppets, miniatures and objects to life.

Stories that come alive

In each session, oral storytelling meets the art of animating forms. After listening, there is time to make: the workshops teach handcrafts linked to the stories that were just heard.
