Fairtrade, Organic, Carbon Neutral and Saving the Rainforest
Multi-award winning Puro is a brand born to family owned Belgian coffee roaster Miko, who first began with coffee in 1801.
Puro’s mission: to better align coffee with community, conservation and climate.
Puro is a member of the one of the Fairtrade Organic cooperatives they buy their coffee from, thanks to their own coffee farm in Honduras where coffee is grown in harmony with nature.
Averaged out over the last 16 years, every kg of Puro coffee sold has protected 20m2 of rainforest. That’s threatened rainforest in coffee producing countries, home to hundreds of endangered species, vital water sources and indigenous communities. It’s all been possible thanks to an exclusive relationship with World Land Trust, land conservation charity, for whom Sir David Attenborough is a patron. This relationship sees money from Puro coffee sales used to fund conservation in coffee producing countries.
Puro’s rainforest reserves now span an area larger than 430km2, that is about 10% of the size of the Algarve.
Puro can be found in conscious cafés, restaurants, hotels and offices across more than 40 countries and is now available in Portugal through Cooperativa da Terra in:
