COLMEIA is a non-profit food distribution service with points of sale and collection of orders at Lagos, Vila do Bispo, Rogil, Monchique, Colos/Odemira.

COLMEIA mainly distributes organic food in these regions to PRIVATE CUSTOMERS and BUSINESSES. It strengthens the LOCAL NETWORK with its partners and supports local producers and shops.

COLMEIA also takes care of importing goods that are not produced locally as a service, to supplement the needs of the local community.

COLMEIA is a non-profit project, self-financed by community investors. We have already reached the necessary goal for running the project, but we are still open for more investors.

Your investment can help us progress this project faster and wider.

We live in unpredictable times with the will to build a solid community in the Algarve and the Southern Alentejo. COLMEIA is a project that allow us to be resilient in food stock, bring more economic power to people and it will be a source of income for other people. It should be seen as an investment in ourselves as a collective.

There is a solid 3 year business plan supporting the calculations. The project provides for a profit margin in the first 2 years, which will allow for interest and loan payments. After this period, as a community, we can decide to reduce product prices for members or reinvest.

Most of the investment is in tradable items (e.g. food), so there is a minimal guarantee by the stock itself. Today there is high inflation in these items and it is realistic that the stock now will have an even higher value in Euros later on.

Transparency is a fundamental value for COOPERATIVA DA TERRA and the same applies to COLMEIA. There are 3 persons managing the project for the day to day decisions, above them there is the Board of Directors of the Cooperative, and above this the General Assembly, composed of all the members of the Cooperative and where 1 person = 1 vote.

According to COLMEIA‘s cash flow there is a possibility of returning the money sooner than expected.
