MOEDA DA TERRA: SLEEPTIME FROM 20th OF NOVEMBER 2023.
Dear members and friends of COOPERATIVA DA TERRA,
after careful consideration of the pros and cons of MOEDA DA TERRA the board has decided to temporarily suspend its use indefinitely.
MOEDA DA TERRA was born out of a vision to enhance our community’s self-reliance, reduce our dependence on the Euro, and foster greater resilience and abundance. However, we believe that successfully implementing a local currency requires educating and incentivizing the community until we reach a critical mass. This project demands dedicated human resources, and at present, we acknowledge that we do not have the capacity to drive it forward effectively.

As MOEDA DA TERRA hasn’t gained sufficient traction, it has become a burden on our administrative processes, complicating matters for our members and consuming resources required for data management. In short, the drawbacks currently outweigh the benefits.
We hold onto the hope that someday, a member or a group of community members will step forward to take on this project and revitalize it with the necessary energy.
From a practical standpoint, MOEDA DA TERRA will continue to be accepted as a payment until October 20th and can be re-exchanged with Euros until 20th of November 2023.
All members with TER in their wallets are encouraged to use it or exchange it for Euros through the procedure which was send to all members in September 2023. If you have any more questions about it, please don´t hesitate to write us an email with that subject to .

Until the moment of the reawaking of TER, we still want to share our original thoughts why a local currency makes sense:
